PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports had a promising start at the 71st edition of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, with their No. 52 Wynns/Max Connect/RainX/Client Command/Apex Protect Oreca 07 LMP2 entry starting from pole position with driver Ben Keating leading the race for most of his 3 hour 4 minute stint. However the team finished in fourth place, after an uber competitive and action-packed race.
 
 

Despite missing some pace this weekend, the team and drivers drove an error-free race with no penalties or mistakes for the full 12-hour event. They were in a position to win the race in the final minutes, but unfortunately fell short in their hunt to finish on the podium.



Team principal, Ray Mathiasen, was proud of his team's performance and the efforts of everyone involved. He commended the crew for making no mistakes during pit stops, and the drivers for driving an exceptional race. He expressed his gratitude towards everyone and stated, "I couldn't have asked for more from everyone involved with this team."



Driver of the No. 52 entry, Ben Keating, commented, "The 2023 Twelve Hours of Sebring was tough. We had such a strong car at the test just a few weeks ago, and the grip level of our car just wasn't the same when we got back here for the race. Our result was about right for the speed of our car, but much less than the performance we had as a team."
 
 

“Like always Ben did an amazing job at the beginning of the race to give us the car in the best position possible,” said Paul-Loup Chatin.



“Unfortunately we were missing a bit of pace this weekend and we did our maximum to stay in the game until the end. One more time, the team did a really great job in terms of strategy and to end up P4 is maybe the best result we can catch this time. We now have to understand why we were missing a bit of pace to come back stronger for the next one.”
 


‘It has been a tough race at Sebring,” said Alex Quinn. “We didn’t have the pace to fight for the win but we gave it everything, had a clean race and never gave up. We were in P2 near the end which showed our resilience, but our focus will now be on Watkins Glen and making sure we are able to fight for the win!” he finalized.
 


The team is already looking forward to their next event, the Motul Course de Monterey Powered by Hyundai at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, where they will aim to come back stronger and fight for the win. The driver lineup for the No. 52 entry will be announced shortly.
