GP2 Series Round 9 at Sochi Autodrom

There are just three rounds left of the 2015 GP2 Series as this weekend the teams and drivers head to the Russian circuit of Sochi. Although neither of the Racing Engineering drivers, Alexander Rossi and Jordan King, have raced here before both men will be looking to continue their success in the previous two race weekends which has seen Alexander take two wins at Spa and Monza while Jordan was second at Spa.

Racing Engineering is currently lying second in the Team Championship and Alexander is also second in the Drivers’ Championship and he will be wanting to score as many points as possible to help secure his position and Jordan will fight to be on the podium once again.

The Autodrom is located at the Black Sea resort of Sochi and is 5.843 kms in length making it the third longest track on the GP2 calendar, it is built around the site of the 2011 Winter Olympics and is a semi-perman! ent street circuit so it will be vital that the teams come up with a setup that combines speed and consistency.

The track surface is not abrasive so tyre wear and degradation is low therefore Pirelli will be providing their medium and soft compounds.
