Thomas Chareyre put all energy into last qualifying session of 2011
22.10.2011: France and its fans could not have welcomed the SuperMoto paddock in a better way than the one reserved to the protagonists of the sixth and final appointment of this year’s FIM World Championship

France and its fans could not have welcomed the SuperMoto paddock in a better way than the one reserved to the protagonists of the sixth and final appointment of this year’s FIM World Championship and UEM European Series.
Qualifying today were once again the first test to pass in order to be at the front on the great day and the dominant protagonist of them was French Thomas Chareyre, the 2010 World Champ and current series leader, who will obviously try to rule his home Grand Prix to be the star of the World Championship.
Despite the best time of 1:06.377, the French leader will not have an easy ride as his brother, 3 time World Champ, Adrien Chareyre is adopting a constant and solid strategy which provided him with today’s second fastest time. Ivan Lazzarini did good too with the third spot in the time sheets, while Mauno Hermunen completed the top four.
The Italian leader of the UEM European Series, Freccia Team Teo Monticelli, clinched the second best time this afternoon finishing behind rival Pavel Kejmar who took the time of 1:08.273. Third classified was another Italian, KTM 747 Motorsport Alessandro Tognaccini and tomorrow the trio will be on gas trying to come home with the best result for the season gran finale.
S1
Today’s result grasped by TM Factory Racing Thomas Chareyre was not completely unexpected; being one of the strongest home riders can definitely be an advantage when many of your rivals do not feel that confident on a track that is hosting a SuperMoto GP for its first time after having been the scenery of the SuperMoto of Nations last year.
Courtesy of the fastest time of 1:06.377, the youngest and talented representative of the Chareyre family collected the best achievement ever so after taking this promising first step in the qualifying, tomorrow we will see him putting all his energy in the Superpole battle as well as in the 3 Races.
Adrien Chareyre of the Fast Wheels ASD Team is in a strong position too thanks to the second best time and looked very quick on the French track of Cahors also being on the highest speed for some time of the session but eventually ending the day one step far from the head of the time sheets. Adrien will be battling it out with Thomas for the victory of this GP and the Championship as he is in second in the standings, 10 points off his brother.
HM Honda Racing Ivan Lazzarini, third at the end of the day, will have to keep an eye on what happens in front of him and no doubt about the fact that he will push hard to stay in the top three doing his best to confirm the same position he is detaining in the standings.
Husqvarna Factory Mauno Hermunen lost the top three but will be in battling it out for the Superpole tomorrow as he was the fourth fastest rider of the day and classified in front of another talented French racer, Luc 1 Sylvain Bidart, and TDS Faor Uros Nastran author of the sixth best time.
The top ten was completed by KTM 747 Motorsport Alexis Marie Luce, a young rider with a bright future in front of him, compatriot Romain Faivre, Suzuki Valenti Lux Performance Christian Ravaglia and Portimão GP winner SHR Racing Matthew Winstanley.
TDS Faor Massimo Beltrami, SBD Union Bike Racing Giovanni Bussei, Karanyotov Motorsport Angel Karanyotov and Pergetti Racing Elia Sammartin are the names of some Superiders who missed out the top ten after working hard on the set up of their bikes but not enough to be among the first ten, in any case their qualifying performances were not too bad and tomorrow they will surely try to make up ground.
S1 Qualifying top ten: 1. Thomas Chareyre (FRA, TM), 1:06.377; 2. Adrien Chareyre (FRA, Aprilia), +0:00.065; 3. Ivan Lazzarini (ITA, Honda), +0:00.328; 4. Mauno Hermunen (FIN, Husqvarna), +0:00.668; 5. Sylvain Bidart (FRA, Honda), +0:00.840; 6. Uros Nastran (SLO, Honda), +0:00.973; 7. Alexis Marie Luce (FRA, KTM), +0:00.993; 8. Romain Faivre (FRA, KTM), +0:01.115; 9. Christian Ravaglia (ITA, Suzuki), +0:01.182; 10. Matthew Winstanley (GBR, Honda), +0:01.340.

Open
Team Freccia Teo Monticelli can feel pretty quiet with the 59 point gap dividing him from his closest rival in the standings Pavel Kejmar, who was the fastest rider in today’s qualifying through the best time of 1:08.273.
The Italian leader of the Series will try to pull away from the pack in tomorrow’s races but also compatriot Alessandro Tognaccini, third today, will do his best as he is in third in the standings as well and is seeking the runner up spot.
