The Team Trident drivers are ready to battle at the fascinating and challenging Baku City Circuit.
 

Three weeks after the inaugural round of the season held at Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, the FIA Formula 2 Championship circus will make a stop in Azerbaijan on the Baku City Circuit.



On a track longer than 6 kilometers, very technical and fast despite running between the guard rails of the city on the west coast of the Caspian Sea, the Team Trident drivers will aim to increase their knowledge of a track on which they never raced before, and then chase overall performance in qualifying.
 


Both Trident drivers never had the opportunity to try their hand at Baku, and it will be essential not to make mistakes from free practice to collect as much data as possible.



 After returning from Bahrain, the drivers worked in depth with the team's technical staff, examining all the information gathered during the opening runs in order to outline the strategies and define the set-up choices for Baku.



20-year-old Indian prospect Arjun Maini, who made his series debut at Bahrain, is expected to highlight a further growth to confirm the already-impressive potential showed so far.



There will also be high expectations for 19-year-old American Santino Ferrucci. Like his team mate, he will face his first weekend at Baku with  the goal of quickly learning its secrets.
 


The on-track activity will begin on Friday at 11:00 with the practice session. Qualifying is scheduled for the same day at 3:00 pm. Saturday will feature the first race at 12:00, while the second and final heat is scheduled for Sunday at 13:10.



Timetables are in local time, which is two hours ahead of Central European Time. As usual, all the on-track activity will be covered live by the Sky Sports network.

"The team wants to redeem itself after Bahrain, where we collected results below our expectations and potential. The technical staff worked carefully with the two drivers to prepare for the challenging trip to Azerbaijan, on a fast track that does not leave room for mistakes.



It will be important for our drivers to find the right chemistry on an unknown venue for them. Baku is an unique city circuit, which many people compare to Macao. It features extremely fast sections with slow corners that keep breaking the pace.



The team will give its full support to the drivers there. I am sure that both of them will be able to face the challenge with the right spirit and get home with good results".
