Kansas Speedway, 1.5-mile tri-oval

Race Distance: 200 laps
Broadcast: Live ESPN 2, 5:00 pm ET

- Conquest Racing is heading to Kansas with a new driver in their lineup after it was announced this week that Brazilian Jaime Camara was joining the team. The Firestone Indy Lights graduate brings plenty of oval experience with him after his three years in Indy Lights. He also spent time testing Andretti Green Racing’s IndyCar Series car in 2007.

- This weekend Conquest Racing will be making their second start at Kansas Speedway. The team raced in Kansas during their first year of IndyCar Series competition in 2002. Laurent Redon started 4th that year and finished 22nd.

- The Road Runner Turbo Indy 300 will be Conquest’s second oval start of the season and 27th since graduating from the Indy Lights Series in 2001. This weekend will also mark the team’s 20th IndyCar Series start.

- Conquest achieved their best combined effort when they placed both drivers in the top six in Long Beach last weekend at the Champ Car World Series finale, with Bernoldi in fourth.

- Conquest Racing is one of six teams making the transition to the new unified IndyCar Series. Previously the team founded by 1991 Indy Lights Champion Eric Bachelart competed for five seasons in the Champ Car World Series, claiming 2 podium finishes and 57 top-tens in 74 races.

- The Indianapolis-based team is entering their second full season of competition in the IndyCar Series. Their first full season of competition was in 2002 with French driver Laurent Redon, who took "Rookie of the Year" honors that season. The team has one podium finish to its credit, a third place finish in Fontana that same year.

- Will be making his first appearance at Kansas Speedway and third IndyCar Series start.

- Is coming off his best performance of the season with a fourth place finish at the Champ Car World Series finale in Long Beach after qualifying eighth.

- Between races, Bernoldi joined a contingent of other IndyCar Series drivers who visited the Honda HPD facilities in California as well as the American Honda offices. The drivers met with the associates and signed plenty of autographs throughout the day.

- Enrique Bernoldi will be the only former regular Formula 1 driver in the field.

- Bernoldi drove for the Arrows Formula 1 team in 2001 and 2002 before becoming a test driver for the BAR Honda Team in 2004 and 2005. Some career highlights include a third place in the final standings of the Formula Nissan World Series, a runner-up position in the British F3 Series and a European Formula Renault Championship.

- Camara finished fifth overall in his Firestone Indy Lights rookie season in 2005 for Sam Schmidt Motorsports recording three pole positions and two victories including the Freedom 100 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In 2006, he drove for Andretti Green Racing’s Firestone Indy Lights team capturing his third victory and establishing a Firestone Indy Lights record by qualifying in the top 10 in 18 consecutive races.

- Last season saw Camara record seven top-five finishes including thirds at Indianapolis (oval and road course) and Nashville aboard the Andretti Green/AFS Racing machine. The 27-year-old also earned the Most Improved Driver award for improving the most positions throughout the season and established another series record with 42 consecutive starts.

#34 Jaime Camara Sangari Dallara/Honda/Firestone

" Kansas is a new track for me but I am used to ovals and I expect to be competitive. It will be a good opportunity before Indy to get used to the team and get to know everybody.

Conquest Racing did very well in Homestead for the first race and they kept the momentum up with the street courses and now everyone is really excited with Kansas and it can only get better and better every race so I am really looking forward to it."

#36 Enrique Bernoldi Sangari Dallara/Honda/Firestone

"We definitely have a lot of momentum on our side right now with the good results we had in our last two races. Of course those were on street courses and now we return to ovals which will be a little bit more difficult for me.

But I do look forward to returning to an oval track to keep learning and and to keep improving. Once again, I want to have a clean race and try to score as many points as I can because we are in a good position in the Championship."

Eric Bachelart, owner Conquest Racing

"We’ve had a couple of strong races in St. Petersburg and Long Beach which has given us great momentum heading to Kansas this weekend. We are back on oval tracks and we know that there is still work to do to compete with the top teams on this type of track but we are heading in the right direction and look to build on our Homestead results each and every race.

Our new driver Jaime Camara has oval experience which is a great addition to the team and I am sure that Enrique and him will work well together which should also help Enrique get more comfortable on ovals."
