Saturday 19th September 2020, Le Mans.

Racing Experience rounded off their Road to Le Mans campaign today with a second points-scoring P8 finish of the weekend.
Having secured a P9 finish on track yesterday, later promoted to P8, the Luxembourg-based team would start today’s race in P5 and was looking to secure further important championship points.
Racing once again on the iconic 13,626km La Sarthe Circuit ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the race started under safety car conditions, with racing not getting underway in full until the third lap. Bronze driver Nicolas Mélin made a good start on wet tyres, gaining a position into the first corner and holding his position for the remainder of his stint.
Silver driver Gary Hauser joined the track for his stint in P7 and encountered some of the toughest racing of the season as he faced a three-way battle for the remaining laps of the race. He finished the race ultimately in P8, equaling the team’s best result this season and collecting more important points for the team as the end of the season comes closer.
Christian Hauser, team principal Racing Experience, said: “It was another good day for our team here, achieving a second P8 finish this weekend. Our target ahead of this week was to focus on clean racing and good results. We had a conservative setup to help us achieve this.
Today we started on wet weather tyres and with more wing than some other teams, but this gave us the consistency we wanted to guarantee a strong finish. It’s always easy to look back and think we could have taken more risks, but nothing is guaranteed in this very competitive championship, so we are very happy with the result.”
Gary Hauser, Racing Experience driver said: “It was a tough battle out there today. This is a circuit and an event where everyone wants to do well, and the competition is so fierce to gain every inch on track. I enjoyed my racing and even though some drivers were over the edge with their racing behavior, I’m pleased with the final result. We can always look back and think of things to do differently, but we are proud of two strong results here at Le Mans and some important points in the championship.”

Nicolas Mélin, Racing Experience driver said: “I’m very pleased that we have achieved what we came here for and had two strong, point-winning performances. It was a very confusing start to the race as we started in an unconventional way behind the safety car. However, I was pleased to gain a position right at the start and enjoy more laps on this amazing circuit. We can be proud of our weekend.”
The next and penultimate race of the season will take place at Monza – the fastest circuit on the calendar – on October 10.
