Bruno Junqueira will be back with A1 Team Brazil in Brands Hatch

25.04.2007: Bruno Junqueira will be back with A1 Team Brazil in Brands Hatch

A1GP World Cup of Motorsport, Round 11 - Brands Hatch, UK

Bruno Junqueira will return to the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport for Team Brazil in the final round of the 2006/07 championship at the Brands Hatch circuit in the United Kingdom. After racing for the team in Durban and Mexico, Bruno missed the Shanghai race due to a clash with his Champ Car commitments, but is happy to be back to fight for results at the season finale.

A1 Team Brazil has fantastic memories of its last time out at Brands Hatch, which was the first race of the inaugural A1GP season in September 2005. Nelson Piquet Jr recorded a perfect weekend for the team, picking up pole position, the fastest lap of the weekend and both race wins.

The Brands Hatch circuit lies just twenty miles south of London and is one of the most challenging circuits in the world, with its fierce undulating track surface, and fast, sweeping corners. A1 Team Brasil will be hoping it can repeat its success of 2005 on the demanding circuit, to achieve a strong end to a difficult 2006/07 season.

Emerson Fittipaldi, Team Principal: "I hope we can have a very good result at Brands Hatch, like the weekend we had last year. I’m looking forward to welcoming Bruno back to the team.

I have very good memories from last year at Brands Hatch, and with Bruno at the wheel, I am sure we will be competitive. The crowds last year were incredible, and I hope we can recreate the atmosphere to have a fantastic end to this second season of A1GP."

Bruno Junqueira: "I have raced at Brands Hatch before in 2003 but only on the short circuit, although I did finish second. I really like the track and did a lap of the full track in a road car at the time, so I’m really looking forward to racing the full GP circuit this weekend, I’m sure it’s going to be a lot of fun. I’m very happy to be back with the team for the last race, and I want to get a good result for Team Brazil to finish the season."
