James Hinchcliffe and Tirerack.com take second Atlantic pole of season

25.07.2008: James Hinchcliffe and Tirerack.com take second Atlantic pole of season

Going into the fourth and fifth rounds of the 2008 Cooper Tire Presents the Atlantic Championship Powered by Mazda this weekend at the Rexall Edmonton Indy, Canadian Driver James Hinchcliffe (No. 3 Tire Rack - Forsythe/Pettit Racing) has already moved into sole possession of second place in the championship standings by taking the pole position in qualifying for the first race of the doubleheader.

It was the second pole of the season for Hinchcliffe and the sixth of his Atlantic career. Hinchcliffe is in his third Atlantic season and has already earned a victory, which came in May’s Monterey Festival of Speed at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca where he also started from the pole. He also owns a 10th-place result at Long Beach and a fourth-place finish at Mont-Tremblant.

"I am really excited that the SpeedProAgency was able to bring Tire Rack on board for the year," Hinchcliffe said. "They are a great company that is successful in a very competitive environment, which is why being involved in racing with a top team is right in-line with their philosophy.

We have already managed to get the Tire Rack car into victory lane this year and we hope that it will be the first of many. With a lot of racing to go it will be a tough championship but we’re hoping to celebrate a championship with Tire Rack."
