The Trident Team drivers ended up outside the points while showing a good race pace.



After the unfortunate race 1 of yesterday, in which Santino Ferrucci failed to take off due to a technical problem and Arjun Maini hit the barriers in the very early stages, today's goal for the two Team Trident divers, both of them rookies in the FIA Formula 2 Championship, was to finish the Sprint Race without making mistakes and setting a solid race pace.




The goal was achieved. 19-year-old   American Santino Ferrucci crossed the line 11th, barely missing the top-10  after having fought for points. Arjun Maini's comeback was equally consistent, as he climbed up to P13 after completing some good overtaking maneuvers.


Now the team's two drivers and staff will focus on the next round of the series, scheduled on the demanding and fascinating city circuit of Montecarlo from May 22nd to 24th.

"We knew that the grid position wouldn't have allowed our drivers to confirm the good performance of Baku, where rookies Arjun Maini and Santino Ferrucci had ended up in fifth and sixth place respectively in the Sprint Race.



Today it was important for our drivers to conclude the heat and show a solid race pace. We must start from this baseline to prepare the next event in Montecarlo".
