In the second race held at Bahrain International Circuit, the Team Trident drivers showed a great competitive level, although they both concluded outside the points



It was certainly not a simple weekend for Team Trident and its drivers, as they were forced to recover during the Sprint Race after finishing the opening race in the mid pack. 19-year-old Indian Arjun Maini, took-off from the fifteenth spot on the grid and brilliantly managed to climb up to P8 in the early stages of the race, entering the points zone.



In the central part of the Sprint Race though, the rookie from Bangalore, had to surrender some positions in an attempt to manage the thermal degradation of his tires and ended up in 14th place.



For the most part of the day, Arjun showed a solid race pace and increased his experience: he will be able to put it to fruition in the coming outings. The fourteenth position does not reflect the potential showed by the team and by the young racer: the combination is eager to bounce back from round 2.



The same goes for 20-year-old American Santino Ferrucci, who got stuck on the starting grid and was then forced to take off from the pit lane. At that point, his rivals had already completed almost a lap.



Overall, Shakir was an undoubtedly unlucky weekend for the Team Trident colors. The Italian squad is looking forward to return on the main stage starting from the second round of the season, taking place on the last weekend of April on the city circuit of Baku, in Azerbaijan.

"The results of the first outing of the season do not reflect the value of the team and the drivers. Now we have to work well to make ourselves ready for the next round of Baku.



In today's race, Santino Ferrucci got stuck on the grid, while Arjun Maini managed to get into the points area before losing some positions.



This year, the category introduced a new car and a new engine, so all the teams are in a learning phase. I think there is a physiological adaptation and we need a few races to get under way".
