United Airlines is celebrating the fifth anniversary of non-stop service between Dubai and its Washington/Dulles hub with a series of activities in the United Arab Emirates.


 United’s Dave Hilfman, Senior Vice President Sales, and Jim Mueller, Vice President Atlantic and Pacific Sales, will host a number of events in Dubai for UAE customers and business partners including an anniversary reception, a golf tournament and a culinary demonstration by United Congress of Chefs member James Canora.


Since its inauguration on Oct. 27, 2008, United’s Dubai-Washington/Dulles service has been in great demand, benefiting business travel, inward investment and trans-Atlantic trade between the Middle East and the United States.

The Dubai-Washington/Dulles flight, UA977, departs Dubai daily at 12:10 a.m., arriving in Washington/Dulles at 6:30 a.m. the same day.  The return flight, UA976, departs Washington/Dulles daily at 6:35 p.m., arriving in Dubai at 3:35 p.m. the next day (all times local).


United’s Dubai-Washington/Dulles service is operated by Boeing 777 aircraft configured with 8 seats in United Global First, 40 in United BusinessFirst, 110 in United Economy Plus and 108 in United Economy Class.

United Global First offers customers a higher level of privacy and comfort, a flat-bed seat, priority airport services and more-personal attention.  The Global First seat reclines 180 degrees into a 6-foot, 6-inch/1.98-m long, 23.5-inch/60-cm wide flat-bed seat, with a personal on-demand entertainment system on a 15.4-inch/39cm video monitor. 


Other Global First amenities include laptop power, USB ports, noise-reduction headsets, additional storage compartments and a multi-course meal with complimentary wines.


United BusinessFirst offers a superior business-class service.  The BusinessFirst seat reclines 180 degrees into a 6-foot, 4-inch/1.93-m lie-flat bed and features a personal on-demand entertainment system with a 15.4-inch/39-cm touch-screen monitor.


BusinessFirst amenities include laptop power, USB ports and a multi-course meal with complimentary wines.


United Economy offers complimentary food, soft drinks, juices, tea, coffee and inflight entertainment.  Seats feature an adjustable headrest and a 5-inch/12.7-cm seat-back monitor delivering a personal on-demand entertainment system. 


United Economy Plus offers up to five inches/12.7 cm of extra legroom.  Located near the front of the Economy cabin, the seats give the added benefit of allowing a swifter exit from the plane upon arrival.
