OTK Kart Group Engine Division’s engines are leaders on the occasion of the German Wackersdorf round of the FIA Karting European Championship for the gearbox classes, in conjunction with the opening round of the FIA Karting Academy Trophy powered by Vortex.



KZ - RTZ and RSZ Vortex engines are soon the leaders in the qualifying session with Noah Milell (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Simo Puhakka (Tony Kart Racing Team) signing the second and fourth best timings of the session.



Milell gains a second place and two fourth places during the qualifying heats as well as the third starting box on the starting grid of the final, while Puhakka runs steady among the first drivers during the three heats and hits the Top 10 in the final race on Sunday. Lorenzo Camplese (Tony Kart Racing Team) gives up a possible Top 15 finish because of a collision with another driver and consequently retires.



KZ2 - An uphill weekend for our Vortex engines, in the cadet class, due to the numerous accidents which occurred on the track starting from the first heats. Despite the difficulties, Jean Luyet (Tony Kart Racing Team) takes advantage of an excellent start and of his skills to grab the seventh position in the final, out of 95 starters.



Bad luck, on the other hand, for Markus Kajak (Tony Kart Racing Team) who has to stop on the first lap already: some rivals cause an accident and the Estonian is, even though without fault, involved.


FIA Karting Academy Trophy - OTK Kart Group celebrates for the sixth consecutive year its commitment in the one-make championship wanted by the FIA to facilitate the access to international karting of young talents between 12 and 14 years old chosen by the ASNs of each country from all over the world.



The quality of Vortex products allows Trophy drivers to show off their skills in driving Junior class engines which offer identical performances to each other. Reno Francot (Netherlands) is the winner of the hard-fought final at the Wackersdorf weekend, ahead of Salim Hanna (Colombia) and Dion Gowda (Singapore).
