WeatherTech Racing is currently running seventh at the Le Mans 24 Hours race in France.


 
Toni Vilander (Kankaanpää, Finland) had the wheel for the start of the twice-around-the-clock French classic. Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill.) and Jeff Segal (Miami, Fla.) have also put in initial stints. In the beginning, Vilander had the No. 63 Ferrari GTE 488 Evo up into third in the ultra-competitive LMGTE Pro Class.
 


The race has entered night-time running and the rain is on its way to the region.
 


"It was exciting to do the start," Vilander said. "The WeatherTech Racing Ferrari is running well. Usually in the opening stint the car is not handling great. So, we made a few adjustments for my second run and it was better. It was nice to put up the fight with the Risi and AF Corsa cars during my stint. Jeff is in now and then Cooper. We are in the beginning and the rain is coming."
 


"It was a nice opening run in the car for me," Segal said. "Toni did a great job to move us up at the start. We were mixing it up quite a bit with some fast cars. The balance of car is really superb, credit to Scuderia Corsa and the entire team. It is a lot better than in practice. It is much happier on the rear tires. It was nice to get behind the wheel of the WeatherTech Ferrari and get into a rhythm. It is time to focus, keep it clean and click off laps."
 



MacNeil is the only Silver rated driver competing in the LMGTE Pro Class.
 


"My first stint went really good, I was happy with my lap times," MacNeil said. "I was running close to the leader's times. I am proud of that since I am a small fish in a big pond in this class. I lost some time during my second stint due to double stinting the tires, but still kept up a good pace. One Pro car is out of the race. We need to stick to our plan, run fast laps, keep out of trouble and have some luck as well."
