Will Owen finished 10th in the DPi class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with Juncos Racing in an extremely challenging running of the 67th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Advance Auto Parts.
 
 
 
Owen began the weekend by taking the wheel of the No. 50 Cadillac DP1-V.R and leading the team in qualifying where he ended up in 6th position. The beginning of the race saw challenging wet weather conditions, but Owen managed to stay trouble-free for the first hour of the race that was spent under caution. Throughout the rest of his stint, Owen managed to move as far up as 6th place before handing the car over teammate, Rene Binder.
 


With around ten hours left in the race, Binder had no choice but to return to the Juncos tent to evaluate and repair damage caused by debris on the track. The alternator belt had been broken and Binder returned to the competition with just over seven hours remaining and in 10th place
 


At the half-way point in the race, Juncos Racing was tasked with more issues from the hit taken by the debris. Continuous effort from the crew of Juncos allowed the team to carry on and finish the race and score a top ten finish. Owen will be back on track on April 13th for the Bubba Burger Sports Car Grand Prix at Long Beach.

"The race at Sebring was one of the hardest days I have faced. It was tough for everybody. Tough for the team. Tough for drivers. I must start by saying thank you to the Juncos Racing team for working so hard. We had a lot of issues to deal with but the team worked so hard to get through them. It just seemed like we couldn't catch a break. Despite the problems, our Cadillac DPi-V.R. was fast and it was a lot of fun to drive.
 



I learned more today than I ever have learned in any other race. It is very difficult to drive in this race, especially at night. I feel like I made a huge step forward. We all know as a team what we need to do to get better, so we will work on everything we have learned from Sebring and move on towards Long Beach in a few weeks."
