Fri 18:00 - WRC 2 standings at the end of Friday

1. Tidemand +1h 36m 25.1sec 2. Rovanperä +20.2sec 3. Greensmith +1m 27.0sec 4. P.Heller 3m 57.8sec 5. Dominguez +5m 34.0sec.

Fri 18:00 - SS8: Rovanperä

We've finally got a time for Kalle - he's 1.8sec slower than Tidemand.

Fri 17:51 - SS8: WRC 2

A couple more cars have come through but none have troubled Tidemand's fastest time with Solans and Heller both finishing 1m 20sec behind. It'll be interesting to see where Rovanperä finishes - he's been on a bit of charge this afternoon.

Fri 17:42 - SS8: Greensmith

The Brit comes through the flying finish now and he's 15sec behind Rovanperä but more than 20secs ahead of Pedro Heller who has just crossed the line now.

Fri 17:38 - SS8: Tidemand

The Swede completes the stage and pulls up to the stop control with a 14m 19.3sec. A seemingly good time for now but we'll see if that changes.

Fri 17:37 - SS8: Al Qassimi

Sheikh Khalid ends the day for the WRC cars with a time 1m 14.2sec off the leading time. "I feel I have made progress today, the corners are getting faster but some are unpredictable with a lot of rocks. I'm trying to enjoy it."

Fri 17:33 - WRC standings at the end of Friday

1. Tänak +1h 30m 38.6sec 2. Meeke +22.7sec 3. Neuville +28.6sec 4. Sordo +29.5sec 5. Ogier +36.4sec 6. Breen +41.2sec 7. Mikkelsen +58.5sec 8. Lappi +1m 07.9sec 9. Evans +1m 10.3sec 10. Suninen +1m 33.7sec

Fri 17:32 - SS8: Suninen

Teemu finished his day 13.9sec down on Tänak, he's faster than team-mate Evans.

Fri 17:30 - SS8: Evans

He's losing quite a bit of time in that M-Sport Ford car, he crosses the line 15.4sec off the pace - the slowest of anyone so far. "It's been disappointing, this one especially. The tyres have gone off during this one." That explains it.

Fri 17:27 - SS8: Breen

Breen slots in third, 2.8sec down on the fastest time. Good result for him puts him sixth overall. He's happy with that: "That last one it seemed to better, it was a nice way to finish the day."

Fri 17:24 - SS8: Sordo

Sordo comes through in third, 3.6sec behind Tänak and he slips to fourth overall behind his team-mate Neuville by just 0.9sec. "I lost time at the end of the stage but I think from the first time I did this stage I lost time at the same place as well. Still in the fight here."

Fri 17:22 - SS8: Breen

Craig is still doing well here, he's only 0.7sec down 11.72km in to this test.

Fri 17:21 - SS8: Lappi

Esapekka is through now 6.1sec behind his fellow Yaris driver. "It's been a tough day, the morning was really good and then we had two punctures, it seems the tyres are coming off the rim - there's no damage to the actual tyre."

Fri 17:18 - SS8: Meeke

The Citroën driver finishes his day 5.9sec down on this stage. Keeps him more than in the hunt for tomorrow. "Impossible to follow Ott today, he's been on a blinder. I've had to do the last 6km with a front-left puncture - thanks to Michelin for letting me finish the stage!"

Fri 17:16 - SS8: Breen

Interesting from Breen, he's 0.1sec faster than anyone at the first split point - could he sustain that for the entire stage?

Fri 17:15 - SS8: Mikkelsen

Third fastest at the moment for Andreas, 6.2sec off the pace of Tänak isn't bad at all considering how dominant the latter has been. He comments: "Yeah first stage this afternoon we had a puncture so we had to bear that in mind - one more puncture and we could be out."

Fri 17:13 - SS8: Lappi

The Finn, looking to avoid a puncture on this stage, is 5.8sec off his team-mate's marker at the 11.72km split.

Fri 17:12 - SS8: Tänak

He finally finishes his dominant day and he looks a picture of calm, he's 1.4sec up on Neuville on SS8. "A good day, apart from the first stage, but that's how it is. For the moment I think we are performing quite well and the car is starting to suit me, I hope we can do some big things."

Fri 17:11 - SS8: Mikkelsen

Mikkelsen meanwhile has logged a time at the penultimate split 5.2sec down on the Toyota

Fri 17:10 - SS8: Meeke

Meeke has just passed the third split, 3.1sec slower than Tänak - he could be on for another respectable time here.

Fri 17:08 - SS8: Neuville

Back out on the stages, Neuville is 7.3sec faster than Ogier as he pulls into the stop control.

Fri 17:08 - Latvala

We're hearing from Toyota that Jari-Matti's car is retired completely. He's not able to come back under Rally2 after a failure of the engine's oil lubrication system.
