As you all know, this year Rally Bulgaria has reached the peak in its development as an international race and is now a part of the World Rally Championship – the most prestigious line of events in rally sport. We are proud that our best start was given such high recognition but at the same time we realize that this is not only an honour but a great responsibility as well.

Rally Bulgaria 2010 must meet thoroughly the high standards of WRC and this is possible only by working very hard. The route was confirmed ahead of deadline and the cards and time schedule were sent to FIA head quarters in Paris in the end of November last year.

The total length of Rally Bulgaria 2010 is 1068.30 km with 14 special stages (353.34 km).The length of the stages is 33.08 per cent of the total length and this makes our start one of the most compact WRC rallies. But to achieve this we prepared an entirely new concept of the race itself.

At the moment the route meets some key requirements – to be attractive to the spectators, interesting to the pilots and at the same time fairly safe for all of them. Each stage was carefully selected to be convenient for the spectators and the media as well as to make the pilots show their best.

For exactly that reason the Yundola-Belovo stage was taken out of the schedule - it had no alternative roads to be reached easily and this made it very hard for the spectators to visit and for the media to cover.

Rally Bulgaria 2010 will take place in 9-11 July. During the three days around 1000 marshals, security officers and radio operators will be engaged. The number of the security teams is doubled up to 24 and the Service Park at the Dolna Banya airport is enlarged.

As organizers of Rally Bulgaria 2010 we do our best and believe that our elite start will become a constant member of WRC schedule.
