The Electric GT Championship, the world’s first 100% zero-emission GT series, is delighted to announce that its headquarters will be built at the Circuit Pau-Arnos, France.

A statement of sustainability, the new building will act as the principal hub for all test and development programmes both on and off the track, before the EGT Championship gets underway at the Circuit Paul Ricard on 25 November 2017.
The agreement was confirmed during today’s (27 April) announcement for the new ‘Pau E-Circuit’ project, as the region looks to become an incubator for technology and clean energy.
The event also saw French legend and Formula 1 Grand Prix winner Jean-Pierre Jabouille, Le Mans winner Stéphane Ortelli and EGT Drivers’ Club member Olivier Lombard drive the race-prepared Tesla Model S around the 3 km circuit.
Selected journalists were also given the opportunity to experience the EGT V1.4 Tesla Model S P85, with the latest version, based on the P100D, currently under development.
To celebrate this important step forward, EGT have launched their exclusive Founders' Club, where Tesla and Electric Vehicle fans can join the team that makes this championship a reality.

Electric GT Championship CEO, Mark Gemmell, said: “For Electric GT, the Circuit Pau-Arnos is the best possible location to bring along our future partners, teams, drivers and VIP guests. The headquarters is immersed in the beautiful French countryside, which reminds us that with the right technology we can not only take care of our planet, but have fun too.
“The circuit is receiving local and regional government support and EGT will act as the catalyst and inspiration for much of its innovation. We will develop much of our championship in and around this new HQ, bringing business opportunities to the region. The South West of France is set to be at the centre of clean energy, with many revolutionary technology companies already based here.
“The excellent climate means we are able to use the circuit all year round for testing and there’s not many places in the world that offer the level of hospitality and accommodation that you can find here. We are very thankful for the excellent support everyone involved is providing and look forward to a fruitful collaboration for all.”

President of Pau E-Circuit, Philippe Costemale, said: “Today we are writing history in the field of zero-emission motorsport. We are thrilled to host the Electric GT headquarters, test track and development centre for the next five years at Pau E-Circuit in Arnos, and to support technology advancements in clean energy and sustainable mobility.
“We believe that Pau E-Circuit, located close to the historical energy innovation centre of Pau-Lacq, is Electric GT’s perfect partner for the future.
“EGT will benefit from Région Nouvelle Aquitaine’s technology cluster and world-class research facilities.
“Université de Pau et des Pays de l’ Adour (UPPA) is one of the leading campuses in France for energy and the environment. It is dedicated to Energy Transition, in partnership with leading innovation companies dealing with energy storage, renewable solutions and new mobility.”
