An excellent start to the GP2 championship for team Durango. Race 2 saw the Spanish driver Borja Garcia finish in overall 4th. He started in pole position on Sunday thanks to the 8th position obtained in race 1.
For the Indian driver, Karun Chandhok, who made his debut in GP2 Series this weekend, race 2 was unfortunately plagued by a number of set-backs. He was forced to slow down on the first bend in order to avoid the cars involved in a mass pile-up and subsequently dropped back a few positions and was forced to drop out of the race after contact with Zaugg. Despite everything Chandhok proved himself to be highly competitive from the outset in Saturday's race, where he finished in 9th after a very impressive over take.
The whole team is satisfied with its performance in the season opener proving that the hard work done during the winter season has paid off, infact team Durango took points in both of the races.

"A positive first race of the season. In race 1 I didn't take any particular risks and was able to maintain a good speed while in race 2 I had an excellent start but on the first few laps I had a small technical problem that resulted in me losing the lead.
As soon as the problem was adjusted I starter to push forward and felt at ease with the car. However, while I was tailing Fillipi a small error made me drop back a few metres and I was unable to recover. As I said, it was a good start."

"I consider my debut a good one. I made a mistake in the qualifiers which resulted in me losing 3 tenths and dropping back a few positions. Race 1 was very exciting, I really enjoyed myself and I felt at ease with the car. In Race 2 I lost a few positions in order to avoid the pile-up on the first bend.
The car raced well but as I was trying to regain position I had contact with another driver and the race for me ended there."

On 24th March at Adria racing-lovers will be presented with a pre-season display by Durango where they will showcase their new drivers for the 2007 season.
The season opener is in April and team Durango will participate in three championships: GP2, EGTS and EuroSeries 3000.

The second test of 2007 took place on a wet circuit at Montmelò in Barcelona. Two intense days of tests were had by all teams on one of the most difficult circuits in GP2. The Aussie invasion of the Champ Car World Series continued today when well-known Australian businessman Paul Stoddart announced be had purchased a controlling interest in the Indianapolis-based CTE Racing - HVM Champ Car team.
