Robin Hansson (SE) won the second scholarship shoot-out for the 2013 Formula BMW Talent Cup season. The 15-year-old from Kullavik defeated a field from four different countries to emerge triumphant at the Lausitzring (DE).


Victory secured Hansson a scholarship worth 35,700 Euros (incl. 19% German VAT), which goes towards the cost of participating in the 2013 season of the Formula BMW Talent Cup. Second and third place went to Michael Waldherr (DE) and Florian Stüger (DE) respectively.
 

BMW booked the Lausitzring exclusively for the scholarship shoot-out, which is the second of three such events being held as part of the selection programme for individuals interested in participating in the Formula BMW Talent Cup. Jules Szymkowiak (NL) beat twelve international competitors to win the first scholarship shoot-out at the Red Bull Ring (AT) in October.


The third and final scholarship shoot-out will take place on the Circuit Ricardo Tormo near Valencia (ES) on November 25. There are only a handful of places still available for this date.
 

There are also other ways for people with an interest in formula racing to get their first taste of it, in addition to the scholarship shoot-outs. For drivers with some formula racing experience already under their belt or who have previously participated in a Formula BMW Talent Cup rookie test, there is another so-called “full test” in Valencia. The aim of the Formula BMW Talent Cup is to comprehensively and sustainably prepare talented drivers for a career in professional motorsport.
