Oulton GB4 race winning team enter two category Rookies for season-opening races

Elite Motorsport will be represented by Josh Irfan and Harri Reynolds in this season’s opening GB4 event at Oulton Park over the Easter weekend (7-10 Apr).

Irfan, from London, and Narberth’s Reynolds, compete for Elite who won four GB4 races last year, including two at the Cheshire venue.

After a successful career in karting, Irfan will compete in the F4 British Championship this year but has opted to race with Elite at Oulton to gain further single-seater experience. Reynolds, confirmed for Oulton and hoping to raise the budget for additional races, also enjoyed success in karts.

He became a Ginetta Junior Scholarship finalist in 2020, finishing 11th – the fourth best-place Rookie – then fourth overall last year, scoring 12 podiums including three wins.

* The Tatuus F4-T014 is powered by 1.4-litre turbocharged Autotecnica Motori engine tuned by Mountune producing 160bhp.

Josh Irfan (GB)
Age: 15
Born & lives: London (UK)
Car No: 16

“I’m competing in British Formula 4 this season but have the chance to gain some single-seater experience before the opening BF4 rounds.

“I’ll be racing with Carlin in BF4 and they recommended Elite. My aim is to get some experience but also have fun.

“I’ve tested the Elite GB4 car twice, at Silverstone and at Donington. GB4 comes more naturally to me currently than BF4 but I’ve still loads to learn.”

Harri Reynolds (GB)
Age: 16
Born & lives: Narberth, Pembrokeshire (UK)
Car No: 17

“At the moment Oulton is a one-off but I’m working very hard to raise the necessary funding to do more races on the GB4 calendar.

“I’ve chosen to race at Oulton because I believe GB4 to be the best entry level single-seater championship in the UK at an affordable price that offers a natural progression into GB3.

“Elite are very professional and have been very supportive, helping me improve. My aim for Oulton is to fight for wins and podiums while building on my limited experience in GB4.

“I’ve done five test days with Elite, two in Barcelona, and have really enjoyed the challenge of learning the new car and can’t wait to get racing!”

Eddie Ives, Team Owner & Manager

“I’m really pleased to be running both Harri and Josh this weekend at Oulton Park. “GB4 has all the ingredients to be a fantastic championship and we are pleased to be a part of it in 2023.

“We’ve done some testing with both Josh and Harri which has gone well. We’re looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish together at Oulton.”
