Double victory for Piscopo at Mugello in Italian F3

The first weekend of the 2008 racing season is about to be archived with the victory of Edoardo Piscopo in race two, after yesterday success in race one. The Ghinzani´s driver, author of the pole position, imposed since the beginning his rhythm to the race and his leadership has never been questioned.
On the podium Nico Verdonck and Francesco Castellacci too, while in the National CSAI Trophy the victory has gone to Angelo Fabrizio Comi.
Piscopo tops now the classification now with 24 points, followed by Verdonck (14) and Bortolotti (11). Next round of the Formula 3 championship is due next 8th of June at Magione.
Edoardo Piscopo:
"We started the season by getting the maximum result, therefore we cannot be but satisfied. In this moment we perhaps have the best car that allowed me to take advantage of my bigger experience against most of the drivers. Our opponents will improve quickly, therefore we will have to work to get the most out of the initial advantage in this championship".
Nico Verdonck:
"My getaway has certainly been better today than yesterday. The car was faster and I had the chance to push harder than in race one, but we still need to work a lot to aim at the victory. The outcome of our weekend is positive anyway: I got some important points for the classification and we understood the direction we have to take in the forthcoming development of the car".
Francesco Castellacci:
"The car was much faster than yesterday, I could even push harder but Verdonck was difficult to catch, while the advantage on Nava gave me a tranquillity margin. I decided not to get any risk and score some points that may be useful for the classification at a later stage".
Angelo Corbetta (Team Minardi by Corbetta):
"We got the first points of the season but our targets are definitely different. We have a lot of work to do: the data collected give us a complete picture on which we will base the further development of the car in preparation of the weekend at Magione.
Moreno Leonardi (Europa Corse):
"We hoped to be closer to our opponents but from the results of this weekend a pretty consistent gap emerged to be recovered. We thankfully have almost a month before the next round, which will be very useful to work on the cars".

Edoardo Piscopo won as a ruler the first race of the Italian Formula 3 2008 Championship. The Ghinzani driver started from the pole position and kept the leadership of the race from the first to the last lap without being attempted by his opponents. On the podium Mirko Bortolotti and Nico Verdonck too.
