Michaël Burri and Clio R3T round off the season with a good finish at Wales Rally GB 31.10.2016: Michaël Burri, Anderson Levratti and Renault Sport Rally Team concluded

Michaël Burri, Anderson Levratti and Renault Sport Rally Team concluded their 2016 season with a fourth place finish in the WRC 3 at Wales Rally GB. It was at times a tough learning experience, but once again served to highlight the exceptional reliability of Clio R3T.


After a solid performance in Corsica and a maiden podium in Catalonia, the sixth and final round of Michaël Burri and Anderson Levratti’s WRC 3 programme took them to Wales.



The winners of the 2015 Clio R3T European Trophy finale began their debut appearance at the rally with a serious, applied approach in what were very difficult conditions, far wetter that expected after recce.
 


Fifth in the category after the opening leg, the Renault Sport Rally Team crew took advantage of their Clio R3T’s reliability to gain a position on Saturday, during which the competitors also had to contend with foggy conditions. Michaël Burri upped his pace on Sunday morning, managing to grab a top three spot on SS18.
 


"This Wales Rally GB was a good learning experience for me," revealed Michaël Burri at the finish. "We did some testing before the rally. As has been the case this year, we used the speed of the car and took advantage of its excellent reliability to finish well in fourth place.



It’s another good result, which goes to show that we are improving at each outing. Before the start of the season, I hadn’t driven on gravel for three years. It was difficult to get back into the swing of things, but we have shown that are capable of adapting to this surface.



I would like to thank my co-driver Anderson Levratti, who helped me find the right rhythm, and Renault Sport for having given me the opportunity to take part in the world championship this year."
 

"It was obviously a tough rally but we didn’t have any real problems," added Sylvain Alanore, Renault Sport Rally Team Manager.



"Like all over the season, we were able to rely upon a Clio R3T with tried and tested qualities, and had no reliability issues at all throughout the weekend."
 

"Wales Rally GB concludes an interesting season for Michaël and the Renault Sport Rally Team," he concluded. "We had great reliability at all six rounds of the WRC. We finished all the rallies, confirming reliability as one of the many strengths of Clio R3T."
 


After this event, which concludes its works programme in the WRC 3, the Renault Sport Rally Team is fifth in the Team standings and the Burri-Levratti crew finishes in eighth position.
