On his home round of the season series regular James Williams made his debut in the i20 N Rally2. He and co-driver Dai Roberts where immediately at ease with the newer model, compared to their familiar i20 R5.



They quickly showed their pace – as well as the performance of the car – to go second quickest on SS3 and move into the podium places in the process.
 


It was a positon he held to the end of the event – helped by two more second fastest times on the final two stages - to finish third overall. The result scored the duo points for second place in the national championship as i20 R5 driver, and overall winner, Hayden Paddon was not registered for the series.
 


The Kiwi was fastest outright eight times on the event, and only dropped from the lead overall for a single stage on the last of his planned European rally starts for the season. In the end he was 38 seconds clear of his nearest rivals after a dominant performance.
