The Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland is at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Italy this weekend (17th and 18th September).



This marks the return of the popular Porsche customer racing series to the 4.226- kilometre circuit on the Adriatic coast for the first time since the inaugural season in 2005. The competitors can look forward to another highlight at round four of the season. As at the Lausitzring last year, the programme will feature thrilling night races.



An additional test awaits the drivers in the Porsche Drivers Competition Pro on Saturday evening. The Porsche Sprint Challenge and Porsche Sprint GT series will each contest an additional race in the dark. As well as the unusual light conditions, the races held after sunset also come with a second anomaly: those drivers that finish in the points will be rewarded by having their points multiplied by 1.5.




Porsche Sprint GT


The enthralling title race in the Porsche Sprint GT series enters the next exciting round in Misano, when the top three in the Cayman GT4 Clubsport class – Steve Caroli (East Racing Motorsport), Mariusz Gorecki (Förch Racing) and Gian Luca Tüccaroglu (Team [a-workx] Motorsport) – all line up at the iconic Italian circuit.



Team GP Elite from the Netherlands, familiar to many from the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, will also run a Cayman GT4 Clubsport in Italy. Only the experienced Thorsten Töpel will be at the wheel of a road-approved 911 GT3 RS.




Porsche Sprint Challenge


The Porsche Sprint Challenge will feature a large field when the Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland travels abroad for the second time. Championship leader Michael Essmann (CarTech Motorsport by Nigrin) lines up again in a 991-generation Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.



He will face stiff opposition at Misano World Circuit, from the likes of Robert Lukas, Matthias Jeserich, Lorenz Stegmann, and Felix Neuhofer (all 992 GT3 Cup). Sunday’s winner at the third round of the season in Oschersleben, Ulrich Becker, is again at the wheel of a 911 GT3 R.




Porsche Endurance Challenge


On the east coast of Italy, the Porsche Endurance Challenge will showcase the special family atmosphere of the Porsche Sports Cup. A total of five family duos will be taking part in the 100-minute endurance race. Marcus and Constantin Berz (Team Porsche Zentrum Mannheim powered by Team 75) and the pairing of Gian Luca und Osman Tüccaroglu (Team [a-workx] Motorsport) start in a Cayman GT4 Clubsport.



Lukas and Maximilian Ertl, and Richard and Philipp Gresek (TM-Racing by Plusline AG) will be at the wheel of a 991 GT3 Cup. Meanwhile, Klaus-Dieter and Niklas Frers (Allied-Racing) will take on the challenge in a 992 GT3 Cup. Championship leaders in the 5c class, Stephan Heim and Michael Joos (991 GT3 Cup, Team Joos Sportwagentechnik), are also looking to have a say in the battle for overall victory.




Porsche Drivers Competition Pro


The two races in the Porsche Drivers Competition Pro offer ideal conditions for experienced regularity race drivers, in which to demonstrate their consistency. In Misano, they will tackle an extra test in the dark, which will present the drivers with a new challenge. Josef Smarda (991 GT3 RS) has the longest journey to the Adriatic coast. The man currently second in the championship lives in Calgary, Canada.




Porsche Drivers Competition


The Porsche Drivers Competition is the perfect way into the world of Porsche clubsport. The cars used span a wide range of different classes and generations. Jürgen Thäle from Bitterfeld enters the regularity race in a 981-generation Cayman, while Horst Wittmann will be at the wheel of a Cayman GT4 and Bernd Bruland starts in a 991 Turbo.
