Devant un parterre de 32 600 spectateurs pour les traditionnelles Coupes de Pâques de Nogaro, en ouverture des FIA GT Series, que la RENAULT CLIO CUP ELF avait rendez-vous ce week-end pour le lancement de la saison 2013.
David Pouget donnait le ton en s’imposant en course 1, et Eric Tremoulet, local de l’étape, assurait le spectacle en s’offrant une des plus belles victoires de sa carrière avec une remontée digne des plus grands.
Benoit Castagné, l’albigeois, passait la ligne d’arrivée à deux reprises en 3ème position, et Lionel Mazars, aux portes du podium dimanche, terminait second ce lundi. A noter les victoires en « Gentleman » de Jacques Fabregat et de Pascal Arellano. L’ultime saison de Clio 3 risque fort d’en être une des plus rythmées !
Avec 27 voitures sur la grille de départ, et de superbes duels en piste, la promotion 2013 de la RENAULT CLIO CUP ELF semblait en effet de très haut niveau pour ce premier rendez-vous de la saison ! La grande surprise venait de David Pouget qui s’offrait d’emblée la première victoire.
Mais la plus belle prestation du week-end revenait sans aucun doute à Eric Tremoulet, qui après avoir dominé les deux séances d’essais privés, signait la pole position en 1.42.571 et montait à deux reprises sur le podium, devant Benoit Castagné et Lionel Mazars bien décidés à jouer les trouble-fête pour ce week-end de Pâques.
Mais trahi par son moteur en seconde séance d’essais qualificatifs, la Clio Cup #64 du Vic’Team, partie de la dernière ligne de la grille, s’imposait à l’issue des 30 minutes (+1 Tour) de la course 2. Cette chevauchée fantastique était facilitée par l’accrochage du départ impliquant près d’une dizaine de voitures. Florian Bernard, Stephane Ventaja, Mathilde Riehl (qui fêtait ce week-end ses 17 ans) et Stephane Codet en faisaient les frais.
En catégorie gentleman aussi la bagarre faisait rage ! Jacques Fabregat (le senior du plateau) vainqueur en course 1, devant Stephane Ventaja, et Emmanuel Gachiteguy, terminait 2ème en course 2 juste derrière Pascal Arellano, un ex pilote moto. Eric Rollery complétait le trio le lundi. Très déçu, David Dudel perdait sa place sur le podium suite à une touchette avec Pascal Arellano.
Outre les vainqueurs des 2 courses, il faut noter aussi les belles performances de Mickael Carrée (qui partage sa Clio #7 avec Claude Cassina), Jérémy Curty (aux portes du podium en course 2), Antoine Ferret (bien placé aux qualifs 1), Thibaut Bossy (poleman en course 1 & Top 6 à l’arrivée, et victime d’une crevaison en course 2) et Jean-Philippe Ligier tout droit sorti du karting qui participait ici à sa toute première course en berline.
Eric Tremoulet repartait du circuit Paul Armagnac ce week-end en grand leader de la Renault Clio Cup ELF 2013, avec un total de 80 points, soit 14 points d’avance sur Lionel Mazars et Benoit Castagné.
Prochaine étape les 18.19 et 20 mai 2013 dans les rues de la ville de Pau pour le deuxième rendez-vous de la saison.
