15-year-old Steven Aghakhani has chosen to race the AMG GT3 for the 2019 season. Aghakhani was approached by Porsche, BMW, Ferrari and Lamborghini, but chose to transition to AMG for several races in the Pirelli World Challenge Series next year.

The Southern California native will be co-driving with former Lamborghini champion Richard Antinucci as part of US RaceTronics expanded operation.
Steven is proud to represent AMG for 2019 and is looking forward to competing in his new AMG GT3 car.
"I'm super excited that I'm going to be competing in the GT3 class next year with AMG," the young driver said. "I'd like to thank Thomas Jager (the race director of AMG) for the opportunity and can't wait for the season to start. I've driven Lamborghinis pretty much my entire career and am really looking forward to the challenge the new car presents.
Having Richie as a teammate will be great. He has so much racing experience to share, so I know that he'll be able to help if I have any questions. I'm also extremely happy that US RaceTronics will still be my team. They've been so supportive of all the steps I've taken so far, and I know that they'll deliver a great car each and every weekend. It's going to be a fun season."
Richard Antinucci is excited about the new adventure as well and is happy with the choice of platforms for the upcoming season.
"I'm looking forward to joining Steven and US RaceTronics on this very exciting adventure!" Antinucci said. "There is a very solid project being put forward from Armik and Steven's sponsors and I'm delighted to be part of it. They have chosen a very competitive platform to race with and no doubt there are ambitious goals for Steven in 2019. Let's keep our heads down and work for success."
Team owner Shane Seneviratne is looking forward to adding the new car and series to his team's schedule for 2019.
"We've been running Lamborghini Super Trofeo exclusively for the past several years, but I'm excited at the new
opportunity that has opened up for Steven and the team," Seneviratne said. "We had great success last month at the Pirelli World Challenge California 8 Hours and I think it's a good fit for Steven.
He's got so much talent at such a young age and I'm looking forward to helping him continue to develop into the world-class racer I know he can be. This will definitely be a challenge for the team, but one that we're all looking forward to."
Aghakhani and US RaceTronics will be running select races in 2019, including the season opener at Circuit of the Americas March 1-3, 2019. Stay tuned to our website for more updates and news on Steven's career.
