• More than 90 drivers from the real world and over 60 professional Esports racers have competed in the VCO ProSIM SERIES over the course of the season.

• Rogers and Benecke have already been confirmed as champions before the eighth and final race on Wednesday evening – but the Pro drivers’ title is still up for grabs.

• Watch the VCO ProSIM SERIES season finale on the livestream today from 19:45.

Ahead of the concluding races on Wednesday evening (on the livestream from 19:45), the Virtual Competition Organisation (VCO) takes a look back at a successful first season for the VCO ProSIM SERIES on the simulation platform iRacing. The seven events so far have seen more than 90 real-world Pros and over 60 professional Esports racers appear in this new type of team competition.

These included the world’s best Esports racers, from Joshua Rogers and Maximilian Benecke to Sebastian Job, as well as stars from real motor racing like Max Verstappen, Romain Grosjean and Rubens Barrichello, DTM champions Bruno Spengler, Martin Tomczyk and Mike Rockenfeller, reigning Formula E champion António Félix da Costa or IndyCar champion Tony Kanaan. The total prize money of 50,000 US dollars was distributed across 107 drivers.

A host of facts and figures about the debut season for the VCO ProSIM SERIES have already been confirmed before battle commences to claim the last win of the season in the final Championship Race in the Dallara F3 on Wednesday evening. This will take place at Hockenheim or Phillip Island (this way to Twitter voting).

Esports racers Joshua Rogers and Maximilian Benecke have already secured the titles in the overall standings for the Championship Race and the Fun Race. This evening, we will find out who will top the standings for real-world Pros. Ayhancan Güven is currently leading, ahead of Sage Karam. Title-winner Rogers has already pocketed over 4,000 US dollars, plus a title bonus of 2,500 US dollars.

Güven and Karam have each claimed around 2,000 US dollars. Measured in terms of Championship Race wins, where an Esports racer and a real-world Pro share driving duties in one car, the Rogers/Güven duo has been the most successful with three victories in seven races thus far. The other race wins were claimed by Maximilian Benecke/Max Verstappen, Graham Carroll/Laurin Heinrich, Sebastian Job/Philipp Eng and Mack Bakkum/Sage Karam.

The Esports racers and real-world Pros took turns to compete in the Fun Races. Race cars and circuits were only announced just before the start of each event.

Two wins, one second-place finish and a P10 were enough for Benecke to claim the title. Sebastian Job and Patrik Holzmann won the other two races. When the real-world Pros were driving, it was Laurin Heinrich who won twice with the other victory going to Louis Delétraz. This evening, it is the turn of the real-world Pros for the fourth and final time.

In addition to the prize money, the drivers who top the Championship Race standings also receive a D-BOX G3 system with four actuators. The haptic systems from D-BOX, Official Partner of the VCO ProSIM SERIES, are the first and only such systems to have been licensed by the FIA.

As overall winner of the Fun Cup, Benecke receives a Simulator Pro unit from SiFaT Performance (sifat-performance.de), also Official Partner der VCO ProSIM SERIES – in the unique VCO design.
