Beim zweiten Lauf zur VdeV-Serie, dem mittlerweile schon zum 11. Mal ausgetragenen 4-Stunden-Rennen in Jarama, geht auch ein PRC an den Start.
Unter dem Banner von Dress-for-Less Racing bringt Mirco Schultis seinen für 2008 gründlich modifizierten CN-Boliden nach Spanien.
Sein Teamkollege ist einer aus dem Jet Set" der internationalen Sportwagenpiloten: Pierre Kaffer konnte über Initiative von PRC für dieses Rennen verpflichtet werden. Der ehemalige Audi-Werksfahrer kann bereits Erfolge wie den Sieg bei den 12 Stunden von Sebring für sich verbuchen.
Ohne Winterpause: Die Herren Kaffer und Schultis sind bestens aufgewärmt für den spanischen Marathon; beide haben heuer bereits zwei 24-Stunden-Rennen absolviert. In Dubai war Kaffer beim österreichischen Team Lechner-Racing aktiv und kam im Cup-997er auf Gesamtrang 6 ins Ziel.
Mirco Schultis setzte im Mittleren Osten wieder auf einen Lotus Elise und war in Florida am Steuer eines Chase DP zu sehen. Dort erreichte Pierre Kaffer in einem Farnbacher-Porsche den 11. Klassenrang.
50 Autos in Jarama - Die Gegner sind zahlreich, das Niveau beeindruckend: Werksautos von Juno, Ligier, Norma, Radical tummeln sich im 50-Auto-Feld; das sind Firmen, die zu den bekanntesten im Rennwagenbau gehören. Der Standard der VdeV-Serie ist heutzutage sowohl technisch als auch fahrerisch immens hoch, etliche Piloten mit Le-Mans-Erfahrung stehen am Start.
Dementsprechend ist auch ein Fahrer vom Rang eines Pierre Kaffer dort sicherlich nicht fehl am Platz. Und die österreichische Firma PRC stellt sich als Hersteller der europäischen Konkurrenz zum direkten Vergleich auf der Langstrecke.
