Andreas Ziggel (www.andreas-ziggel.com)  vom Team JL-Engineering (www.jl-engineering.com) , Vizemeister 2007 der ADAC ProCar Division 2, wird dieses Wochenende im Rahmen des 4. Internationalen Copenhagen Racing GP sein Debüt in der Dänischen Tourenwagen Meisterschaft geben.

Nach dem Erfolg Ende 2007 als Vizemeister der ADAC ProCar in der Division 2 mit dem Team JL-Engineering ist es ruhig geworden um den erfolgreichen 20 jährigen Tourenwagenfahrer. Letztes Jahr, in der ersten Saison in der ADAC ProCar, rollte Andreas Ziggel das Starterfeld mächtig auf und ihm gelang ein spannend erkämpfter zweiter Platz in der Serie. Dann wurde es still um das Nachwuchstalent, welches bei Lutz Paff und Jan Benedetto unter Vertrag steht. Mit dem Einsatz in der Dänischen Tourenwagen Meisterschaft geht die Erfolgsgeschichte jetzt weiter.

Andreas Ziggel wird vorerst im Rahmen des 4. Internationalen Copenhagen Racing GP als Starter für das dänische KP Racing Team (www.kpracing.dk)  an den Renneinsätzen der DTC Meisterschaft in Sturup (Schweden) dieses Wochenende teilnehmen. Sein Rennwagen, ein neuer Mercedes Benz C 200 (W204), wurde bisher von Ronnie Bremer für das KP Racing Team pilotiert, der jedoch das Team vor Abschluss der Saison verließ.

Diese Woche fanden bereits ausgiebige und sehr vielversprechende Tests auf dem neuen Rennwagen in Schweden statt. Sollte Andreas sich bewähren sind weitere Einsätze in der DTC diese Saison möglich und sogar mehr. Dem Team JL-Engineering ist es somit gelungen einen weiteren Grundstein für die Karriere des außergewöhnlichen Rennfahrers zu legen und dem Ziel einem Einsatz in der WTCC näherzukommen. Lutz Paff und Jan Benedetto sind optimistisch, denn schon letztes Jahr verlautbarten sie zu Anfang der ADAC ProCar Saison „Das Wunder von Assen" welches den Weg für Andreas Ziggel zum Vizemeistertitel ebnete.

„Wie es weitegehen wird hängt von vielen Faktoren ab…", so Erik Benedetto, Marketingmanager von JL-Engineering, "aber eins ist sicher, hiermit liefern wir den Beweis, dass keine Nachrichten nicht immer bedeuten, dass Nichts passiert. Ganz im Gegenteil !

Wir haben uns die Tourenwagen Weltmeisterschaft nächstes Jahr auf die Fahnen geschrieben und seitdem hart daran gearbeitet. Für Andreas ist der Einsatz in der DTC ein wichtiger Baustein auf dem Karriereweg, aber sicherlich nicht der Letzte."

Bei einem weiteren Einsatz für die letzten zwei Renntermine in der DTC würde sich Andreas Ziggel gleichzeitig für die Europäische Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (ETCC) qualifizieren, welche am 18. und 19. Oktober 2008 auf dem Salzburgring in Österreich stattfindet.

Zur Rennserie:

Die Danish Touringcar Championship (kurz: DTC) (www.dtc-net.dk) ist eine 1999 zum ersten mal ausgetragene Rennserie für Tourenwagen in Dänemark. In der DTC wird nach dem Super 2000 Reglement gefahren, wie in der deutschen ADAC-Procar-Serie oder der WTCC.

Gefahren wird auf vier Rennstrecken, wobei die Mehrheit der Rennen auf dem Jyllandsringen stattfindet. Nebst dem Ring Djursland findet sich die Meisterschaft auch auf dem Padborg Park, in der Nähe der deutsch-dänischen Grenze, ein.

Das einzige Auslandsrennen findet auf dem Sturup Raceway in Schweden statt. Im Rahmenprogramm der Rennwochenenden sind auch weitere nationale Rennserien am Start, so zum Beispiel der dänische Clio, Advan und Volkswagen Polo Cup, sowie die Formel Ford.

Immer wieder sind auch international bekannte Fahrer wie John Nielsen, Jason Watt, Kurt Thiim, der letzjährige DTC Champion Michel Nykjær oder der ehemalige Formel 1 Fahrer Jan Magnussen in der DTC unterwegs. (Quelle: Wikipedia)
