Mit einigen Änderungen zum Ablauf des 6. Flugplatzblasen startete Oliver Harsch die Organisation des wohl bekanntesten Viertel Meilen Rennen in Süddeutschland. Die bisherige Philosophie des Rennens, jeden Teilnehmer starten zu lassen egal mit was für einem Gefährt, ist leider nicht mehr durchführbar.
Über 500 Starter sind an einem Veranstaltungstag ohne lange Wartezeiten nicht mehr zu koordinieren. Trotz Kritik vieler Interessierter wurde nun die Starterzahl auf 350 beschränkt und dazu dürfen nur noch Autos starten die über 150 PS und Motorräder die über 80 PS verfügen. Eine Voranmeldung über die Homepage www.flugplatzblasen.de ist hierfür auch zum ersten Mal nötig.
Zudem wurde die Klasseneinteilung geändert. Dieses Jahr werden die Boliden nicht mehr nach KW (PS) eingeteilt sondern nach Hubraum. Autos mit aufgeladenen Motoren (Turbo, G-Lader….) werden mit einem Faktor von 1,7 mit ihrem Hubraum multipliziert und dann in die jeweilige Hubraumklasse eingestuft, um eine Chancengleichheit gegenüber den Saugmotoren zu schaffen. So wird dies auch im Regelement des deutschen Motorsport Bundes (DMSB) gehandhabt.
Bis Anfang September haben sich nun 300 Teilnehmer angemeldet. Die 280 Autos verfügen im Durchschnitt erstaunliche 293 PS bei 2647ccm!!! Die restlichen 20 Motorräder können 145 PS bei 975 ccm aufweisen. Dies zeigt, dass dieses Jahr beim Flugplatzblasen wohl die schnellsten zugelassenen Fahrzeuge aus ganz Deutschland und den benachbarten Ländern am Start sind.
Im Showprogramm wird dieses Jahr das Heartbeat Dragster Team zu sehen sein. Jutta Winter, im 34er Ford Funny Car mit rund 900 PS und Tom Winter’s über 1000PS starker Chevy Nova welches als Speed- Taxi eingesetzt wird. Mitfahrten können Mutige gewinnen oder sind vor Ort zu erwerben. Sascha Winter wird in seinem Junior-Dragster die Landebahn hinunter blasen.
Jessica Wahls von der Pop-Gruppe „No Angels", die letztes Jahr zu Besuch war und von der Veranstaltung total begeistert war, hat sich wieder angemeldet. Ansonsten werden wohl die meisten Teilnehmer Showprogramm genug sein, da sehr viele die 400m in weniger als 10 Sekunden bewältigen.
Auch an die Warteschlange der Besucher soll es dieses Jahr nicht mehr geben. Mit zwei, vielleicht auch drei Einfahren aufs Gelände soll der Stau durch Elchingen bis auf die Autobahn vermieden werden. Die 5 Euro Eintritt (keine Parkgebühren) werden nicht mehr aus den Fahrzeugen kassiert, sondern an mehreren Kassen die an den Eingängen auf den Flugplatz aufgebaut werden.
Ins Fahrerlager, also auf die Hangars, werden nur Teilnehmer mit ihren Fahrzeugen gelassen, die sich vorher online als Starter angemeldet haben.
Nun hoffen wir wieder auf einen goldenen Oktober und eine regenfreie Veranstaltung.
Der gebürtige Rupoldinger wurde nur 56 Jahre alt.
Als engagierter Fahrer der frühen Formel-Ford-Jahre gehörte er zu jenen die in Deutschland und Österreich die Szene mit prägten.
