A positive performance for Michela Cerruti in Portimao (Portugal) in the third round of the Superstars Series, valid for the International series only.



The young driver from Milan, despite a violent contusion occurred recently to her left hand, got regularly on track with the usual determination at the wheel of the number 88 C63 AMG Mercedes setting the fourth time (1'53.065) in the second free practice session.


In qualifying, Michela secured that eighth time (1'52.513) that was her objective on a circuit not suiting very well Mercedes sedans; the same result was confirmed in race one after the duels with Fabrizio Armetta (Chevrolet), with the team mate Max Pigoli and Riccardo Romagnoli (Mercedes). Less fortunate was race two that last just three corners due to a bumping from a rival that forced her to an early retirement.


Michela Cerruti:


"I am fairly satisfied with what emerged from this weekend. Portimao was definitely not the circuit suiting Mercedes' features at best and I was not physically to my hundred percent; despite all of this I managed to be constantly in the top ten. What a shame for the accident in race two that prevented me from finishing in the top six - seven".



In the classification of the International Series, Michela Cerruti is now seventh with 40 points and a gap of 26 from the leader.


The Superstars Series will be back on track next 5 June in Misano Adriatico for an event valid for the Italian Championship only.
