The Superstars Series championship is about to get on track for the second round of the season, on schedule in Valencia (Spain) from Friday on and valid for the International championship only.
The "Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana" is dedicated to the motor-bike Spanish driver Ricardo Tormo and unfolds in five right hander turns, nine left-handers and a main straight of about 900 meters for a total length of 4.501 meters.
The layout of the circuit, inaugurated in 1999, favours on paper M3 BMWs and the reigning Champion Thomas Biagi is motivated to get the most out of this condition after the difficult weekend of Monza at the beginning of March.
Furthermore, the coupe driven by the Italian will not have any sportive ballast on board, which is the additional weight added by rule in function of the results of the proceeding race.
Thomas Biagi:
"I am getting close to Valencia's weekend with some moderate optimism and certain that I can turn the situation seen in Monza over as that was probably the least favourable track of the entire season to us.
The last time I raced at the "Ricardo Tormo" dates back to 2002 in Formula 3000: a lot of time passed since then but I had the chance to study the track by following Michela Cerruti's preparation at Grid GP simulator as well as that of my team mate Alberto Cerqui, Riccardo Bossi and Mario Marasca, with the latter involved in the first round of the Formula Abarth European Series here in Valencia. All this work did not prevent me anyway to put down a few laps myself, as I was feeling a bit like the shoe maker always wearing torn shoes...".
The weekend's programme follows (GMT+2):
